DGTheatre
DGTheatre (“Digital skills for the promotion and valorisation of European historic theatres”) is a Small-scale Partnership in Vocational Education and Training (VET), funded by the Erasmus+ program. The project arises from the need to modernize and revitalize Europe’s historic theatres, transforming them into dynamic cultural hubs capable of connecting with new generations through technology.
The Challenge
Historic theatres are pillars of European cultural heritage, but in recent decades, they have faced a progressive decline in popularity, often becoming restricted to a very niche audience. The gap is particularly noticeable with younger audiences, whose communication patterns are deeply rooted in digital experiences.
Main Objectives
Specialized Training: Creating tailored training opportunities for theatre staff in areas such as digitalization, web communication, and audience engagement.
Sector Modernization: Developing and testing a training itinerary that enables theatre human resources professionals to generate a digitally-based cultural offer.
Networking Tools: Producing a tangible digital tool to facilitate mutual promotion and networking among historic theatres across the European Union.
Inclusion and Accessibility: Using technology to overcome access barriers and diversify the cultural offer, making theatre attractive to all demographic profiles.
